                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 1024 EAST
                   MAIN STREET, THE 1000 BLOCK OF EAST 16TH
                   STREET, AND THE 1000 BLOCK OF EAST 17TH STREET,
                   BEING ON THE SOUTHWEST LINE OF EAST MAIN STREET
                   AT POLK STREET, THE SOUTHWEST LINE OF EAST 16TH
                   STREET AT POLK STREET, AND THE NORTHEAST LINE
                   OF EAST 17TH STREET AT POLK STREET FROM R-3
                   RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO M-1 MANUFACTURING ZONE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located at 1024 East Main Street,
                the 1000 block of East 16th Street, and the 1000
                block of East 17th Street, being on the southwest
                line of East Main Street at Polk Street, the
                southwest line of East 16th Street at Polk Street,
                and the northeast line of East 17th Street at Polk
                Street.
                
                Lots 15-18, 69-73, 95-102, and 135-141, Orange
                Grove, as shown by plat of record in plat book 3,
                page 39, ROHC; being the properties described in
                deed book 3156, page 903, ROHC, deed book 3352,
                page 356, ROHC, deed book 1195, page 349, ROHC,
                deed book 1195, page 348, ROHC, deed book 1195,
                page 354, ROHC, deed book 2354, page 757, ROHC, and
                deed book 2736, page 815, ROHC, and part of the
                properties described in deed book 1462, page 299,
                ROHC, and deed book 2286, page 239, ROHC.  Tax Map
                No. 146P-G-8-11, and 146P-J-18 (part) and 24.
               
         from R-3 Residential Zone to M-1 Manufacturing Zone.
        
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         required by law.
